A family story

It was in 1997, when a mother opened a chocolate shop in Geneva, in the Passage des Lions, of a well-known brand, that her children, Melissa and Pierre-Olivier, fell into the world of chocolate.

His palate was already well developed by the pleasures of the table instilled in him since childhood, and it was gradually and by dint of tasting the creations of other chocolate makers that Pierre-Olivier Brändli sharpened his taste buds and became passionate about this extraordinary raw material.

As an actor in Paris during his bohemian years, the French capital, renowned for its gastronomy and in particular for its pastries, is for him a real playground of taste. As a storyteller, he naturally drew parallels between his work as an actor and food. This is how he came up with the idea of creating his own chocolate brand by telling the gustatory adventures of Charlie Ganache. The name was invented with a scriptwriter friend in Montmartre, “Charlie” for the reference to Roald Dahl’s work and “ganache” for the famous chocolate baked cream.

In 2018, Charlie Ganache chocolatier opened his first shop, in the Passage des Lions in Geneva, within the walls of the shop where it all began.
